Train Treat!

well....continuing with my "summer special"...hhehehe
we( I n my elder sis) always loved the long train journeys....even today i think it's better to travel by train rather than grabbing a flight..primarily because its more fun and of course it's "REAL TRAVEL" ........ frankly speaking ..the sleeper class is much better (i'll will be explaining the reasons later)

so as soon as we came to know that we were going out for a vacation...i would sincerely count the number of days remaining.....then i would hold those crisp blue n white tickets in my hands and go through it a hundred times to find ki kaunsa berth hai!!! hehhe ( i used to count ki which berth it is...i realised later that it's indicated besides the berth number ,if it's lower, upper, middle, etc)....and if it was a lower berth huraaaaaaah!
so the packing started next day, no matter how many days were still left.... :D ...after all trains were special! From then on we began fighting that if i will get the window seat....... but the problem was i wasn't even eligible to have a berth...how irritating!!!! obviously i lost the argument almost always......so what was the solution to this problem?? of course tears!! when will they be used?? hehehhe and after the "tears session" every body agreed with me.
so now after the packing thing....the waiting thing would begin........(the best part i think)

now rke is abt 180 km from new delhi so it usually meant a5-6 hrs long drive ...but even waiting for the cab was fun! hehe we used to get up real early( my mom wished if we wud do tht regularly..hehhe)
As the faint growl of the taxi grew louder we used to quickly inform mum n dad and run out....ahhhhhhhhhh it was pure funnnn.....!!!!! as the taxi pulled out of the campus and at last out of rke i wished that moment cud last forever...and sometimes even think about returning, which obviously made me sad ..but for then the holiday was just beginning and any thought about returning was faaaarrr from being true........
now the taxi ride was a lil boring but yes the excitement of the journey made it bearable. Now, delhi was something different for us.... we used to just peep out of the window and gaze at the marvellous city....( well rke was like a jungle ..infornt of tht!) ...turning through various roads we used to reach the railway station at last.......... now then again the waiting session would begin .... and it was time to buy "Tinkle Digest" ( actually any comics....be it "chacha chaudhary"," pinky" or even "billu" hehehhe) ...... which was a must for every journey..... then we would roam about on the platform and see the mighty trains..... they were simply superb mark of power!
Even boarding the train was fun!!!!
Now as the train would start to move ... we would put our heads out ( this is the reason why our faces would be dirt laden at the end of the journey) even if it was dark outside!!!!!
Next morning, we would get up at about 4 to see the sunrise and by the noon the beautiful stretch of vindhyas before Bhopal would pass by ahhhhhhhhh it was our favorite part...
coming on to why sleeper class was better..... because you get to smell various flavors of the journey , moreover the people are more friendly unlike the flights, there is no solemnity .....
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh I LOVE TRAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:D

Good Ol' days......

Have you ever cared to look back?.......it is said “never look back” but I say sometimes it is real fun to peep into the past………

Summer holidays were always something I looked forward to. There were many reasons for this, primary reason was obviously “NO school”. So the last day at school was something very special, saying bye to all the pals and climbing up the rickshaw with glee was always so much of fun! Counting the number of holidays on fingers was something too good because you needed 4 hands for that hehe….

I and my elder sister always had a special program that day, it was the day to have “Gold Spot” , or any other cold drink in small take-away bottles, which were later filled with water to set the money plant.

And yes the “holiday home work”, it always used to be a big burden. Never have I ever completed my work on time , after all it was meant to be completed on the last day.

Summer meant a visit to “children’s library” , those morning walks to the “imli ka ped” and enjoying them, that “chutti chutti “ on DD1 , helping Mario to reach his princess etc.

Literally we had no work, all that we were supposed to do was play, play and keep on playing!

Still sometimes when i think about those days ....i just say...good ol' days!
